NECO Civic Education Exam Structure

The exam is divided into two papers:

Paper 1

  • 50 multiple-choice questions
  • 60 minutes
  • Total of 40 marks

Paper 2

Paper 2 is a two-hour essay test divided into three sections: A, B, and C. Each section contains three questions, and you must answer a total of four questions, selecting at least one from each section. This paper carries a total of 60 marks.

Section A covers national ethics, discipline, rights, and obligations. It includes topics such as citizenship, ethics, and the responsibilities individuals have towards one another and the government.

Section B focuses on emerging issues in society, which may include environmental concerns, social justice, or the impact of technology on society.

Section C examines governmental systems and processes, including how the government functions, the different branches of government, and how they interact.
